Under this administration, we could very well see Trump’s Department of Justice roll back voting rights.

His pick for Attorney General, Pam Bondi, spread disinformation about voter fraud and worked to support his lie that the 2020 election was stolen. Under new leadership loyal to Trump, the department could target voter registration and voter file maintenance across states, leading to more purges of voters from the rolls.

And this Trump-aligned DOJ may stop pursuing voting rights cases across the country, including in Georgia. Voting rights may be at its most precarious position since the civil rights gains of the 1960s.
