John, today marks two years since the Half Moon Bay shooting that took the lives of seven people and injured one. It occurred less than 48 hours after the Monterey Park shooting and further traumatized the Asian American community.
It all started with an argument between an employee and his supervisor.
Guns can turn anger into violence far too easily. Disagreements like this should NEVER culminate in the loss of life. Until we address access to guns, we will continue to have escalations that destroy entire communities.
Sadly, we also are following reports of a school shooting in Nashville, Tennessee yesterday. We honor the lives of those who were lost yesterday and two years ago, and we strive for a better world in their honor, and for all of us. We all deserve a future free from gun violence.
