Donald Trump took back the office of the president and wasted no time in taking troubling action that puts American lives at risk.

As part of a slew of executive actions this week, President Trump pardoned 1,500 January 6 rioters – including those who assaulted Capitol police officers.

iImmediately after the news, the rioter known as the “Qanon Shaman” posted this:

Friend, these are the real and deadly implications of President Trump’s actions: Violent extremists will now be able to obtain weapons because of their pardons. Even Trump's own voters don't support his extreme agenda on guns — in fact, a majority want to see even stronger gun safety laws.

When people who intend to do harm and have explicitly supported violent extremism have access to guns, the consequences are deadly. Americans deserve better and if the President will endorse violent extremism, it is more important than ever to speak out against it.

We must send a message to President Trump and Congress and let them know Americans won’t stand for arming extremists: Will you add your name to Brady’s urgent petition right now and condemn armed extremism?
