[link removed] [[link removed]] John,January 6, 2021, was a dark and shameful day in modern American history. A mob, incited by lies about the 2020 election, stormed the U.S. Capitol in an attempt to reverse an election outcome that its members didn’t like.
The perpetrators sought to strangle our democracy, and now, disgracefully, President Trump has granted clemency to over 1,000 people convicted of crimes that day—including leaders of far-right extremist groups like the Proud Boys and Oath Keepers.
Let’s be clear: these are not “political prisoners,” as Trump claims. These are, in many cases, domestic terrorists.
We can’t sit still. We have to act now, just like we did in the aftermath of January 6th:
– Stay strong.
– Lead with the truth.
– Stand up for democracy.
But I can’t do this alone, John. I need your help. Will you join me in pushing back against the lies, defending our democracy, and amplifying the truth? Your contribution will help us fight back against this dangerous narrative. Please chip in $10 or more now → [[link removed]]

My fear is that President Trump’s actions will embolden the most extreme participants in January 6th to perpetrate further violence. And the clemency granted by Trump sends a dangerous signal that there are no consequences for those who would undermine democracy.
The American people are on the side of those who condemn January 6th and its most violent participants.
Let’s send a message that no amount of gaslighting can erase the stain of that day. Please help me lead with the truth and stand up for our democracy by chipping in $10 or more now → [[link removed]]
Thank you for standing with me,
Steve
