Elon Musk’s “Department of Government Efficiency” (DOGE) is officially in
power. Axios has dubbed the new DOGE committee in Congress as the “most
chaotic,”^1 in large part because Marjorie Taylor Greene is chairing the
committee.

But DOGE won’t just be chaotic, Musk’s project will be crushing for the
American people. He wants to cut trillions from the federal budget — that
means slashing Medicare, Medicaid, Social Security, public education,
climate policies, and the federal workforce.

Musk has promised his cuts will cause “hardship,”^2 while millionaires and
billionaires get more tax cuts. Congress can stop this and protect
America’s most critical government programs.
