I am honored to serve on the Senate Judiciary Committee, following in the
footsteps of a mentor and giant, my predecessor and friend, Sen. Dianne
Feinstein, who served as the top Democrat on the committee for years
during the previous Trump Administration.

Just as Sen. Feinstein did before, I will use my position on the Judiciary
Committee to oversee the Department of Justice, conduct rigorous
oversight, and get things done.

Trump is back in office, and he's already announced his Cabinet
appointments. I will certainly have my work cut out for me,
John. The Judiciary Committee
will play a critical role in the coming weeks as we review these nominees.

From Pam Bondi for Attorney General to Kash Patel for Director of the FBI,
Trump selected MAGA loyalists with alarming positions on the rule of law,
the role of the Justice Department, and much more.

I’ve always sought the truth and justice in my work, whether as a member
of the House Intelligence Committee, the Judiciary Committee, the January
6th Select Committee, or as an impeachment manager.

And nothing — not even attacks from the President — will deter me from
defending the Constitution and rule of law.

I’ll need your support to keep up this important work.

MAGA World has come after me repeatedly for my efforts to hold Trump
accountable to the rule of law, and they’ll certainly attack me as I
question and conduct oversight on Trump’s nominees.
