4,000 Amazon warehouse workers in Garner, NC, a suburb about 10 miles south of Raleigh, are set to VOTE FOR THEIR UNION in early February — and we're calling each of those workers to get out the vote.
Here's what you need to know:
The South. It's where New Deal era minimum wage and overtime laws were crafted by racist lawmakers to purposely keep Black, brown, and immigrant workers like me out. It's where workers across industries have been systematically excluded from coming together in unions for generations.
Amazon. Only one Amazon site in the US has successfully unionized. It was hard-fought, and subsequent attempts at other locations have been mired in corporate union-busting abuse. Outrageous.
Last month, at the peak of the holiday shopping season, workers across seven Amazon facilities in NY, GA, CA, and IL went on strike for better benefits, higher wages, and safer working conditions. Change is clearly afoot.
Don't wait to be a part of making this 2nd Amazon worker win happen.
Workers across the country will continue fighting for their unions even as corporate billionaires curry favor with corrupt politicians. Jeff Bezos, the world's 2nd richest person and Amazon founder, thinks he can just cozy up to elected leaders alongside his fellow billionaires like Elon Musk and Mark Zuckerberg. We won't let them off that easily. Take action below if you're with us!
