Governor Greg Abbott has been at the forefront of fueling Trump’s attacks on immigrants. A New York Times op-ed described him as “The Governor Who Helped Trump Get Elected,” highlighting how he helped whip up anti-immigrant sentiment that Trump rode into office.

Last year, Abbott escalated his attacks by busing over 100,000 immigrants out of Texas, leaving families stranded with no support system. Now, Trump is back, promising mass deportations and an end to birthright citizenship.
This is not the leadership Texas needs. Immigrants make up over 17% of our state—they are our family, our neighbors, our friends, and ourselves.
