No doubt about it, it's cold out there. If you'd rather be inside right now, here are some opportunities for indoor fun at Nebraska state parks.

They include nature centers, like the one at Wildcat Hills State Recreation Area, recreational activities like rock climbing at Eugene T. Mahoney State Park, and historical tours at places like Arbor Lodge. Read the article below for a full list of recommendations.

Deer season closed in Nebraska

Deer season in Nebraska officially closed Jan. 15 when the late antlerless seasons ended.

The river antlerless season was shortened due to reduced deer numbers across much of the state. That season now aligns with the rest of the antlerless seasons, and all of them closed Jan. 15.

Last chance to submit entries in Upland Slam

Upland seasons will close on Jan. 31, and so will the Nebraska Upland Slam. Make sure to get your final hunts in and submit all your entries before the deadline.

To achieve the Slam, harvest four birds — a sharp-tailed grouse, greater prairie-chicken, ring-necked pheasant and northern bobwhite quail – in Nebraska. Successful hunters will receive an official certificate, Nebraska Upland Slam pin and the chance to win a grand prize from Pheasants Forever/Quail Forever.
