It's been two weeks since Hakeem and House Democrats introduced the Heroes Act, providing essential funding for agencies that need to focus on fighting the COVID-19 pandemic as well as for additional stimulus checks, health care benefits, and so much more.

But instead of passing this urgent relief package Mitch McConnell let it sit all last week, and now it will sit all this week without being taken up. He said there was no “urgency to act immediately” and states can go bankrupt.

That may be McConnell's solution, but it is not ours. Add your name to demand McConnell stop blocking vital relief needed to help Americans weather this crisis.

It’s going to take a long time for New York and our nation to recover from this pandemic. We need federal assistance, and we need it fast. Our education system, public safety, infrastructure, and many state services are on the line.

It makes it all the more concerning that McConnell doesn't understand the urgency of this crisis. Nearly a hundred thousand Americans have lost their lives. Tens of millions are out of work. Yet, McConnell still let the Senate out on recess without passing this relief package.

Sign on to tell McConnell: we need the Heroes Act, and we need it NOW.
