The people of Hawaii said loud and clear that the cost of living was too high.

And from day one, Governor Green made it a top priority and took action — lowering taxes, including the largest income tax cut for Hawaii families in our state’s history.

This cut will move Hawaii from having the second-highest to the fourth-lowest tax burden in the country — all without cutting any needed services by making careful budgetary decisions and identifying areas for savings.

Housing is the single biggest expense for Hawaii families, and even before the Maui fires we faced a statewide housing shortage — contributing to a shortage of teachers and healthcare workers.

So again Josh took action — approving new units of low-income housing for struggling families and delivering the most significant housing regulatory and zoning reforms in over 40 years, cutting red tape, updating and improving rental laws, and increasing affordable housing statewide.

Josh and his team have also made real progress on reducing homelessness across the state — building 17 kauhale villages for the unhoused across our state with the goal of reducing homelessness by 50% by 2026.

Since taking office, Josh has signed new laws to strengthen gun safety, protect women’s reproductive healthcare rights, and make the government more transparent and accountable.

Josh and his administration are delivering results for the people of Hawaii and making real progress on some of our biggest challenges.
