John,
In an open letter to Congress published in USA Today, 110 former members of Congress, Cabinet secretaries, and governors — all members of Issue One’s ReFormers Caucus — called for greater bipartisan cooperation and for Congress to assert its constitutional responsibilities during the current crisis and beyond.
Coronavirus has made clear that, more than ever, a strong and functional Congress is needed to navigate through times of national hardship. It has also spurred conversations about the need for both the House and the Senate to make institutional reforms that will improve how Congress works.
As this distinguished group of former elected officials noted, Congress must be resilient and cooperate with one another to better the branch and inspire our country both during and after this public health crisis.
“[W]e hope that leaders in both chambers of Congress will harness the moments following this grave and uncertain time and boldly lead to restore the institution. Our country will be stronger for it.”

Issue One is leading the way in bipartisan change, and we couldn’t do it without you.
Thanks for your support,
