Despite his own hardships battling homelessness, Mike rescued a pup Gemma, saving her from euthanasia at a local shelter. Side by side, they braved Maine’s brutal winter conditions, until the cold threatened their survival. VOA’s Huot House gave them both warmth, care and a lifeline.
