Speaker Johnson Cites Genesis After House Passes Bill Banning Trans People From Women’s Sports -- Word & Way

John, the anti-equality majority in the U.S. House has passed an anti-trans sports ban. They're attempting to rewrite Title IX, the federal civil rights law that prohibits sex discrimination in educational institutions. And even worse? The Speaker of the U.S. House is using Bible verses to justify his hateful bigotry.

It's disgraceful that one of the first acts of the new term involves a bill targeting and stigmatizing trans people. While our LGBTQ+ House members are speaking out against the bill, it's imperative that we have their backs. These bigots have a narrow majority, and we can carve away at it.
