No matter who is in office at the federal, state, or local levels, The Trevor Project will remain focused on supporting and protecting LGBTQ+ young people. We are steadfast in being here for them.

We know from Trevor’s 2024 National Survey that LGBTQ+ youth are struggling at this time. 90% of LGBTQ+ young people said their well-being was negatively impacted due to recent politics. On January 20, Inauguration Day, our crisis services saw a 33% increase in volume via phone, text, and chat, compared to weeks prior.

LGBTQ+ young people are scared, anxious, and in crisis, Friend.

Trevor is able to provide life-saving crisis intervention services and continue our suicide prevention work because of the generosity of our Trevor community — that includes you!

Today, I’m asking you to show your support with a gift to make sure that we can continue to support and affirm LGBTQ+ youth during this difficult period.

Our National Survey also revealed that 45% of transgender and nonbinary young people reported that they or their families have considered moving to a different state because of LGBTQ+ related politics and laws. A 2024 Nature Human Behaviour study found that anti-transgender state laws directly caused an increase in suicide attempts among transgender youth by up to 72%.
