John,
Today, we should be celebrating the 52 anniversary of Roe v. Wade, but we’re instead marking the 3rd year since Donald Trump’s conservative Supreme Court overturned it. As a result, millions of Americans have fewer rights than the generation before them.
Since then, we’ve seen a relentless campaign by the Republican party to continue stripping away our bodily autonomy at the local, state, and federal levels. At the same time, we’ve seen millions of Americans rise to protect it. In the last election, 7 out of 10 states voted to enshrine reproductive rights into their state constitutions, including in historically conservative states. And despite the disappointing election results, voters here in Michigan’s 3rd district voted to send a pro-choice woman back to Congress.
As we steel ourselves to face the second Trump administration, I carry these wins with me in my commitment to continue advocating for reproductive freedom here in West Michigan and across the country. Though we face an uphill battle in our fight to restore reproductive rights nationwide, these wins reaffirm my belief that a better future is possible.
As I work to restore reproductive rights nationwide, I also have my sights set on the 2026 midterm elections. The earlier we build momentum, the better our chances are in winning back a pro-choice majority in Congress. I hope I can count on your support with a contribution of any amount right now and gain more ground in 2026.
