John,

Trump’s inauguration on Monday was stacked with billionaires on billionaires, whose combined net worth adds up to $1.2 TRILLION.

Tweet from The Nation: It’s fitting that the most notable image from Donald Trump’s inauguration was a photo of the billionaires in a front row, writes @lehmannchris. They are the true beneficiaries of Trump’s second presidency.

Four of the five richest men in the world were in attendance after shelling out millions of dollars to support Trump. They notably had even better seats than Trump’s Cabinet, with many actual elected officials and their spouses excluded from attending. Thanks to Citizens United, corporations and billionaires have more power and influence over our government than ever before.

What’s worse is that these right-wing billionaire CEOs control the largest tech and social media companies that the public relies on for information and communication: Facebook, Instagram, Twitter/X, and TikTok. All of these platforms have become friendlier to the far-right, recently rolling back fact-checking and hate speech protections in light of Trump’s victory.

And we’ve all seen the pro-Trump propaganda pushed by TikTok in light of the President promising to save it (despite being the one to propose banning it in the first place). Trump is now suggesting one of his billionaire donors Elon Musk or Larry Ellison should purchase it, which would only worsen the misinformation and propaganda we’re seeing.

CNBC: Trump says he’s open to TikTok sale to Elon Musk or Larry Ellison

With billionaires buying access to the halls of power, kissing Trump’s ring, and controlling the most widely-used social media platforms, we desperately need more working-class leaders in Congress to fight back against this oligarchy.

Justice Democrats is actively working to recruit and support as many progressive candidates from working-class backgrounds to run for office as possible in 2026 — but since we don’t take corporate PAC money, our success depends directly on grassroots support from folks like you.

With our February 1 fundraising deadline rapidly approaching, can we count on you to pitch in $5 or more to ensure we reach our $100,000 goal?

Contribute $5

The more we raise now, the more working-class champions we can send to Congress to take on the far-right elite and restore power to the people.

In solidarity,

Justice Democrats
