Maximus Decimus Merkitteus—just Maximus to his friends—is thriving today because of supporters like you.

A spirited cat, Maximus is full of life and love. But before he was even a year old, he was diagnosed with a portosystemic liver shunt, a life-threatening condition requiring urgent surgery.

Through this vital work, Maximus received the liver shunt surgery he needed to not only survive, but thrive. Today, Maximus is a happy and curious young cat who loves blanket forts, jingle ball toys, and playing with his dog brother.

And Maximus isn’t the only cat to receive lifesaving care thanks to our work together. In fact, we developed an incredible new resource—our Community Resource Tool™—to help connect even more people to critical care and support for cats and kittens!
