COMMUNITY EVENTS / NEWS:

  • Howard Chan Strikes Again
    • Surprising no one, Howard Chan is doing everything he can to continue being the pain in the ass that he is. ?Chan decided to extort the clause in his contract that allows him to stay employed, at Sacramento City's expense. In short, because he resigned before the last day of his contract he is allowed to stay on the city's payroll, for now. ?Chan is now employed as an Assistant City Manager. Fortunately, the search for a new city manager has already begun. ?SacDSA will keep an eye on this process to ensure it is done democratically and that the city finds an appropriate replacement. ?We can't have another city manager who over-funds the police, belittles the housing crisis, makes shady backroom deals, smears the good name of local activists, or extorts the city's coffers to line their pockets.
  • ?Sacramento Says "Fuck Donald Trump!
    • The days leading up to, and the day of, Donald Trump's inauguration were met with multiple days of action. ?SacDSA joined PSL, Answer Coalition, CodePink, and several other organizations on January 18th to march in the streets against Donald Trump. We also joined thousands at the MLK 365 March on January 20th as part of the Free Palestine contingent to remind the world that MLK was a freedom fighter and a democratic socialist who was never silent about the oppression of any race or class.
  • Know Your Rights, STOP DEPORTATIONS BEFORE THEY START, & ABOLISH ICE!
    • On day one of his presidency, Donald Trump made it clear he is staying true to his campaign promise that he will attack immigrants and refugees relentlessly. ?We at SacDSA encourage all to follow NorCal Resist's social media pages to stay up to date on their Know Your Rights Training and other programs in Sacramento whose goal is to protect the working class from Trump's Neo-Nazi policies.?
