Stay safe in Nottingham
**A message from City Council Deputy Leader Cllr Sally Longford:**
sally longford
The weekends sunny weather saw an increase in visitor numbers to Nottinghams parks. Although the parks were busy, on the whole Nottingham once again showed that we are determined to do the right thing with social distancing and small family groups being evident. Sunny weather is forecast for the few next weeks and I would ask that while we are enjoying all this good weather we do not become complacent; the coronavirus remains a threat to this city.
If we all continue to follow social distancing then our parks and open spaces will be able to remain open for all to enjoy. Find out what is happening in your nearest park and what social distancing measures they have in place by following our Nottingham Parks social media channels on Twitter [ [link removed] ] and Facebook [ [link removed] ]

*Outdoor Activities in Nottingham*
Nottingham Tennis Centre
The lockdown restrictions have meant that many of us have not been able to take part in our usual sports and outdoor activities. As the Government has announced its phased step down of restrictions weve been working really hard to open up Nottinghams numerous outdoor activities in a safe way to protect both employees and our customers.
Our world-class tennis facility, Nottingham Tennis Centre [ [link removed] ], now has some outdoor courts open and a number of tennis courts in our parks are being made available across the city. Over the road from the Tennis Centre at Highfields Park, the outdoor Adventure Golf is also now open.
Fishing at Colwick Country Park has re-opened and a new online ticketing system [ [link removed] ] has been launched.
Government guidelines state that people should only partake in such activities alone, with members of your household, or with one other person from outside your household, while practising social distancing. You should take particular care if you need to use any indoor facilities such as toilets whilst visiting these sites. Please note that most of our outdoor activities can only be accessed via advanced booking.

*Nottinghams food banks report significant increases in demand*
Robin Hood Statue
The coronavirus outbreak has made it much more difficult for many Nottingham people on low or no incomes to access food pushing up demand for our local food banks. Unfortunately at the same time social distancing measures have made it difficult for many people to donate to foodbanks in their usual way and fewer donations, is proving to be a big challenge for the citys food banks.
For anyone who would like to donate, its now been made easier find and support your local food bank, you can visit Food Banks and Community Based Social Eating Projects [ [link removed] ], to find your nearest food bank and find out how you can help or donate. You can also join me and donate to the Robin Hood Fund [ [link removed] ], which supports local organisations, including foodbanks, who are supporting local people most effected by the crisis.
