This has been a devastating time for our City and our hearts go out to the tens of thousands of Angelenos who have been impacted by this disaster.

The City is taking urgent action to provide resources for wildfire victims, including action to shore up the burn zone ahead of coming rains and a sweeping Executive Order to return and rebuild — which will help Angelenos rebuild lost homes, businesses, and community by:

* Coordinating debris removal from all impacted areas
* Clearing the way to rebuild homes as they were
* Establishing a framework to secure additional regulatory relief and resources
* Taking immediate action to make 1,400 units of housing available

We opened the Los Angeles Disaster Recovery Center at UCLA Research Park (formerly the Westside Pavillion), for survivors of the fires who lost vital documentation like passports or birth certificates. It also provides assistance with short-term financial and housing relief for evacuees as well as assistance for businesses and employees impacted by evacuations or damage.
