John,
We have a responsibility to ensure that everyone gets a fair shot in life.
That's what my parents taught me growing up, and I've carried that lesson
every step of my life — from my time as a voting rights lawyer, to leading
Wayne State Law School, to serving as Secretary of State.
Now, I'm running for Governor of Michigan to continue that work and make
sure that every Michigan family has that fair shot.

I ran for Secretary of State to make sure government is efficient and
transparent, that every voice is heard, and that every legitimate vote is
counted — in every election, no matter the outcome.
Some people didn’t like that very much — but I’ve never backed down from a
tough fight. I’ve spent my life standing up to powerful interests, and
I’ll keep standing up to any bullies or billionaires who try to deceive
us, divide us, take away our rights, or deprive us of our opportunities.
I’m running for Governor to truly make government work for everyone. We
need transparent leadership, safe schools and neighborhoods, and quality
education and childcare. Every Michigander should be able to pay their
bills, put food on the table, and take care of their families.
[ [link removed] ]That's what I'm ready to fight for as Michigan's next Governor. If you
think those are fights worth fighting, will you add your name to our list
of supporters right now?
Add Your Name
I love Michigan and I believe in our future. We're tough, we work hard,
and we never back down from a fight. Let's make Michigan the best place to
be a kid, raise a kid, and call home.
Working together, I know we can do all of this, and more.
