We can prevent invasive online surveillance, but we need your help NOW

John,

Democratic leaders are deciding RIGHT NOW whether or not the government will be able to spy on your online activity without a warrant.

If you don’t want the government knowing what websites you visit, what YouTube videos you watch, and other sensitive information about your Internet behavior, contact Congress today to demand strong privacy protections.

Call Nancy Pelosi, Adam Schiff, and your representatives NOW and demand strong privacy protections in Lofgren-Davidsen amendment to the PATRIOT Act.

Representatives Zoe Lofgren (D–CA 19th) and Warren Davidson (R–OH 8th) have introduced a pro-privacy amendment to the PATRIOT Act. This important legislation would require law enforcement and intelligence agents to obtain a warrant before collecting information about what websites you visit and what videos you watch online.1

Opponents of this common-sense legislation have been spreading lies throughout Congress, telling lawmakers that if the FBI is forced to ask judges for permission to spy on Americans, then the FBI would also have to let known terrorists bomb the Hoover Dam.2 Of course, that’s nonsense. But the purpose of these ridiculous lies is to scare Senators and Representatives into renewing the PATRIOT Act without including any privacy protections for people like you and me. And, unfortunately, these lies are working.

Some Democratic leaders in the House of Representatives are so worried that they are trying to gut the Lofgren-Davidson amendment. They want the government to have complete access to your Internet activity, no warrant or probable cause required. And they think that nobody will care if the PATRIOT Act is renewed without this important amendment to protect your privacy. Call Congress NOW and tell them otherwise.

Tell Nancy Pelosi, Adam Schiff, and your lawmakers to support the common-sense privacy protections of the Lofgren-Daines amendment to the PATRIOT Act.

Regards,

Dayton
