Dear John,
The loss of Cecile Richards leaves a devastating hole in our world and our progressive movement. We mourn her passing and send our deepest condolences to her family and loved ones.
A powerful force for social justice, equality, and reproductive freedom—Cecile fought for us her entire life—lifting up women and people from underrepresented communities, centering us, and giving us the space to be in our power and create change.
Just like her mother, former Texas Governor Ann Richards, Cecile dreamt of a true democracy where we are all represented. Our organization was born from that dream, and we are forever grateful to Cecile for giving thousands of us an organizing home where we can advocate for our communities and build the Texas we deserve.
She was a friend and inspiration to us all. We will miss her deeply, but the echo of her life will live on in every rally we hold, testimony we deliver, and vote we cast.

Just like Cecile, we're self-proclaimed troublemakers. She knew we were living through a historical time that future generations will look back on, wondering who was fighting for them. We're ready to make trouble for anyone that attacks our families and futures.
As we find ourselves in a moment where religious extremism and a loud, vitriolic minority continue to chip away at our freedoms and attack our communities, we at TFN are honored to carry on the vital mission of the organization that Cecile so graciously started 30 years ago.
We hope you'll carry on Cecile's legacy with us as we defend democracy and dream together.
With gratitude and love for Cecile,
The Texas Freedom Network Team
