We wanted to make sure you saw Andrea’s email, because this is important.

Like Andrea said, we’re not going to email you about every outrageous thing Trump says or does. But we will fight to make progress and protect people every way we can, and we’ll let you know how to stay involved — because none of us can afford to throw in the towel.

Take a moment to read Andrea’s note, and if you like what she has to say, then we are humbly asking you to pitch in $5 to power this critical work going forward and restore some guardrails in our democracy.

--------BEGIN FORWARDED MESSAGE--------

Hey, I hope you’re doing OK.

I want to make something clear up front: I do not plan to email you every single time Donald Trump says or does something outrageous. If I did, I’d do pretty much nothing but write emails all day long, and you’d do nothing but read them (if you opened them at all, which you’d probably stop doing).

But the answer isn’t disengagement or resignation either. Seeing so many harmful actions all at once feels overwhelming — but none of us can afford to throw in the towel. We still have work to do, fights to win, and real power to determine what happens next in our country, if we choose to use it.

So here’s what I’m going to do, and I hope you will join me here: I’m going to stay focused on what matters most, fight like hell to stop the bad things we can stop, and make progress for the American people wherever I can.

I will never send you an email just to make you feel angry or scared. But I will send you emails about what I’m doing to stand up for our freedoms, our democracy, and our livelihoods — and how you can get involved in this work.

So, listen: if you follow the news, you probably have some idea what Donald Trump got up to on his first day in office. Among other things, he pardoned insurrectionists who violently assaulted police officers, attempted to circumvent the Constitution on birthright citizenship, attacked LGBTQ people, and made it easier for lobbyists to give gifts to government officials.

You know what he didn’t get up to? A single damn thing to make life more affordable for working families.

I’m going to make sure my constituents in OR-06 get that message loud and clear. I’m going to fight for accountability for an administration that acts like it’s above the people it serves. And I’m going to do everything I can to flip the House blue in 2026 — so that we restore Congress as a separate and co-equal branch of government with the backbone to stand up to Trump when he does things that will harm the American people.

I hope you will join me in this work, because I can’t do it alone. These are tough fights, but it will take all of us — and in the end, we’ll be grateful for the wins we fought for and glad we stayed engaged when we could have given up instead. So if you’re with me, I’m humbly asking you to pitch in $5 to power our work going forward, because we’ve got a lot to do.
