Today marks the anniversary of the Supreme Court making its landmark decision in Roe v. Wade to protect women’s reproductive freedom in 1973.
Since that historic day, extreme Republicans have fought relentlessly to restrict those freedoms, and in 2022, they rolled back nearly 50 years of progress by striking Roe down, taking away the ability of women to make their own healthcare decisions.
After Roe was overturned, I joined the vocal opposition to this reckless decision — and proudly said at this event below in Northwest Indiana: “As a father of two daughters and as your Congressman, I stand with women and I stand for women’s reproductive rights.”
Three years later, our work continues, John.
