 In our campaign for Governor, and as I continue to serve Colorado as Attorney General, I am committed to protecting our great state and our values. With Donald Trump in the Oval Office, I continue to hear from people concerned about what this means for Colorado and for their families. My answer is twofold: We need to hope for the best – and work together to make positive changes where we can, like I did in the first Trump Administration in addressing the scourge of robocalls. We also must prepare for the worst, and be ready to go to court to defend our values and our neighbors. And I am already doing just that, filing a lawsuit yesterday to challenge the Administration’s illegal executive order that claims to overturn the U.S. Constitution’s rule that anyone born here is a U.S. citizen. We discussed the range of challenges that Colorado and other states may face – including efforts to undermine reproductive freedom, the threat of mass and indiscriminate deportations, and efforts to undermine the protections of our land, air, and water.
