‌John,

Today marks the day Roe v. Wade was officially enacted — an anniversary that should have been a celebration of women’s autonomy and equality. Instead, it’s a painful reminder of how much we’ve lost.

In Delaware, I’m proud to say abortion remains legal. Our state has taken bold steps to honor the priorities of Delawareans by safeguarding the right to choose and protecting women’s healthcare. For too many people across this country, that is far from the truth.

In 12 states, abortion is entirely banned. In six others, it’s restricted to as little as 12 weeks. This means that in a country that claims to champion freedom, a woman’s ability to make deeply personal decisions about her body depends not on her needs, but on the state she happens to live in and the whims of politicians behind their desks.

Roe is no longer the law of the land, and Republicans are using the Dobbs decision as a catapult for their extreme anti-abortion agenda — no matter how many lives it devastates. They’ve made it clear: nothing is off-limits. Not birth control. Not the abortion pill. Not even IVF treatments.

The incoming administration only deepens the danger many women face. Make no mistake, women’s healthcare is on the line, but it doesn’t have to be this way.

This is a moment for all of us to act. We owe it to the generations of people who fought for Roe — and to the generations who will come after us. We have a responsibility to speak out, to hold Republicans accountable, and to fight back against their relentless attacks on reproductive care. Add your name today to demand that Republicans keep their hands off women’s healthcare >> [link removed]
