Friends,
We wrote to you last week about how Georgia Freedom Caucus Vice-Chair and State Senator Colton Moore was wrongfully arrested for trying to fulfill his constitutional duty of attending the governor’s “State of the State” address.
The corrupt speaker, State Rep. Jon Burns, had previously banned Colton from the House chamber because Colton suggested that Georgia shouldn’t name a public building after a similarly corrupt former speaker, David Ralston.
Following Colton’s arrest, the Georgia Freedom Caucus naturally defended him. But so did the State GOP Chairman and the State Democrat Party Chair. As did the state’s lieutenant governor. House Freedom Caucus members Chip Roy and Clay Higgins also publicly supported Colton. Here’s a great tweet from Higgins:
In the end, the public pressure against Speaker Jon Burns was so great that he was forced to reverse Colton’s ban. That’s not the end of the story though. The Atlanta Swamp can’t unring the bell of wrongfully arresting him, or the Speaker’s attorney assaulting Colton by pushing him to the ground. We’ll update you as the news unfolds.
MASSIVE WIN IN ARIZONA
Last year, Arizona Freedom Caucus member Justin Heap took the bold leap to run for Maricopa County Record - the office that is in charge of all elections and voter registration in the county.
Heap defeated the liberal Republican incumbent in the primary and successfully defeated the Democrat in the general. We mention this because Justin wasted no time in getting to work to clean up the county’s horrible election regime. Just yesterday, he removed over 242,000 inactive voters from the voter rolls. Below is his statement, and as he clearly announces, more conservative reforms are still to come!
WYOMING HOUSE BANS NON-CITIZENS FROM VOTING
Sponsored by Wyoming Freedom Caucus member Rep. John Bear, HB 157 passed the Wyoming House yesterday by a recorded vote of 53-6. The bill would require proof of citizenship before a person can vote in the state. This was one of the WYFC’s top priorities and it passed swiftly through the House in just the first few days of session! The Wyoming Freedom Caucus’s other top priorities include much-needed property tax reform, banning woke ESG and DEI mandates, ending sanctuary cities, and much more.
INAUGURATION NIGHT IN WASHINGTON
Several State Freedom Caucus members traveled to Washington to be part of President Trump’s inauguration festivities. I caught up with a handful of them at the Liberty Ball. It was a joyous night of friendship, freedom, and celebration!
Keep fighting,
