Team,

This is a heavy week, but our resolve remains strong.

On Monday, long-time reproductive rights activist and former president of Planned Parenthood Federation of America Cecile Richards passed away. Cecile was an indefatigable force in the movement. She didn't just believe in the power of a life in public service. She embraced it proudly and fearlessly.

Losing her on Day 1 of a new U.S. administration that threatens the reproductive health and freedoms she spent her life defending is a pointed reminder that we must carry on the fight, no matter what.

Today, we mark 52 years since Roe v. Wade was decided: the landmark U.S. Supreme Court decision recognized the right to abortion in the U.S. and protected our constitutional right to make decisions about our own bodies. In the years since, that right has faced relentless attacks, and Roe was ultimately overturned by the U.S. Supreme Court in 2022, pushing the U.S. into the shameful position of being one of just four nations to ROLL BACK protections for abortion rights over the last 30 years.

The reversal of Roe was devastating—but it is not the end of our story.

Now thanks to dedicated supporters like you fueling the fight against the Trump administration's extremist anti-rights agenda, it's our turn.

With you by our side, we are doing the work to protect and advance reproductive rights—today and for the long haul—step by step, proudly and fiercely.

Together, we will move forward.

Onward,

Nancy Northup
President & CEO
