In following CDC guidelines, we're postponing all in-person events until it's safe to gather again. This has a direct impact on our fundraising; if you were thinking about supporting Run for Something this year, your generosity is especially needed right now. To get involved from home, sign up to volunteer.
Hi John --
When we sent this email last week, I was a little nervous. Asking folks to give right now is tough, and we all understand why. But so many of you gave what you could -- or wrote in to say you were cheering us on -- and it gave everyone on the Run for Something team the energy we need right now. Thank you.
This week, we're announcing our biggest class of endorsements yet. Is it risky to add a slew of candidates to our roster while our financial future isn't set in stone? Maybe, but our fundraising doesn't affect how badly communities across America need the chance to vote for young, progressive leaders, and it certainly doesn't affect how hard our candidates are working.
John, the 2020 election is here. Across our country, our candidates are making calls, sending texts, volunteering at food drives and blood banks, and even meeting folks in person where it's safe to do so -- with a mask on, and from six feet apart, of course. They aren't slowing down, so we aren't, either.
If you can chip in today, amazing. If you can sign up to volunteer (there are remote opportunities!), we'd be thrilled. If you can't do either right now, well, we get that. We're proud to have you on this team, however you show your support.
Thank you & stay safe,
Amanda

Subject: The new reality for Run for Something
We're in kind of a strange place right now, John.
We're seeing in huge scale the differences between engaged progressive leaders, and... everyone else. It's clear -- to us, at least -- that this fall's elections are somehow even more important than we knew. In a better world, we'd be pushing hard on fundraising so that we could give our candidates the support they really need as they navigate online campaigning.
On the flip side, we're in the middle of a health and economic crisis. Millions of people are worried about paying rent. We're not silly enough to think that giving to groups like ours should be a priority alongside housing and food.
So I'm coming to you to ask: If you're able to spare a few bucks right now, can you give it to Run for Something?
I'm so proud of the way our team has made the transition to this new reality. But we're going to need to continue to be flexible between now and November 3rd, 2020, as the world changes in new and unpredictable ways. If our fundraising stalls, we're going to have to hit pause at the worst possible time.
If you can't give right now, we understand. If you can, we'd appreciate it more than you know -- and put your contribution to work right away.
If you've saved your payment information with ActBlue Express, your donation will go through immediately:
Thanks, and stay safe,
Amanda
