During the campaign, Republicans pledged that they would use their majority to solve the issues the American people were facing.

We are now two weeks into the Congress, and it is abundantly clear the GOP has no intention of working to address the concerns of the American people.

Republicans have started putting their bills up for a vote. Just as we expected, these bills are not lowering the price of eggs or gas or helping people to find more affordable housing. They are not tackling the most pressing issues we heard from so many on the campaign trail.

Instead, what Republicans are forcing Congress to vote on are “Gotcha” bills. These are political bills that serve no other purpose than to stir up the base, start partisan fights, and lay the groundwork for attack ads.

These are bills talking about inflated and hyperbolic issues with no plan to actually solve the problem.

And we know the NRCC will be poised and ready to use these votes to run constant attack ads in the district.

Now, this is their agenda for the next two years. They will try to distract with these bills rather than focusing on the serious work to deliver for families who need it most.

No matter what game Republicans try to play over these next two years, I am ready to stand strong to fight back against every attack. I hope you are too.
