We just received an alarming ruling in our case involving Pastor Chris
Avell and Dad's Place Church in Bryan, Ohio.

Today, Pastor Chris was found guilty of criminal charges for refusing
to lock the doors of the church when it is four degrees outside.

Yes, you read that correctly. Pastor Chris is now legally considered a
criminal.

Why?

For the alleged "crime" of keeping the doors of his church
open to minister and serve anyone who needs help.

Listen to this quick update from First Liberty attorney Ryan Gardner,
who was in the courtroom when the verdict came down.

It's clear that Bryan officials will not rest until Pastor Chris
is in a jail cell and the church's ministry is completely shut down.

First Liberty isn't going to let that happen.

"We will appeal today's decision that found Pastor Chris
Avell guilty of criminal charges for providing temporary shelter to
those seeking to escape the frigid temperatures," said Gardner.
"It is a ludicrous argument to say these people are safer in the
sub-zero temperatures on the street than inside the warmth of the
church."

For over a year, the city has been aggressively attacking the church
in court, including alleged zoning violations, middle-of-the-night
fire inspections, police antagonism and even criminal charges filed
against the church's pastor.

While city officials are demanding the church install an expensive
fire suppression system, they are not making the same demands to all
of the city's motels, apartment complexes and senior living
facilities.

The city's harassment and attacks against Dad's Place
amount to religious discrimination.

And that is not only wrong. It is illegal.

That's why we're going to keep fighting for Pastor Chris
and Dad's Place. This legal battle is far from over. But to win,
we're going to need your continued support.

Right now, Pastor Chris and the people who depend on Dad's Place
are depending on us. Will you support them today with a timely
donation?

Your gift today can help our legal team secure a victory that will
protect this church and Bryan, Ohio's most vulnerable from the
city's constant attacks.

Yes, I will make a gift today!
