John,
Yesterday, Donald Trump was sworn in as President of the United States.
A lot of ink has been spilled about what his second term will bring.
And I know for many of you, his return to the White House is alarming, sad, frightening, and disappointing. I know this is not what we were hoping for.
But rather than getting bogged down in a spiral of all that can go wrong, I’m focused on the achievable fights ahead.
Lowering costs for working families. Increasing funding for rural hospitals. Addressing the housing and homelessness crisis. Banding together to provide relief for the communities ravaged by the wildfires in Southern California.
I promise to continue the work to hold Donald Trump and his administration accountable to the rule of law. That mission will never change.
But we can do two things at the same time — seek accountability and cross party lines to make a difference in people’s lives.
Thank you for all of your support and hard work over the last months and years. For the good of the country, let us do all we can to make a positive difference.
With gratitude,
Adam
