Agenda PAC CEO Brian Sims Condemns President Trump’s Executive Order Targeting Trans Rights
(NEW YORK, NY) — Yesterday, President Donald Trump issued a sweeping executive order that aims to redefine gender as exclusively male or female as assigned at birth, eliminate “X” gender markers on U.S. passports, reverse guidelines protecting transgender inmates, and severely limit other federal recognition and protections for transgender individuals.
In response, Agenda PAC’s CEO Brian Sims forcefully denounced the action, warning it could open the door to even broader attacks on LGBTQ+ rights:
“When our trans siblings are singled out and denied their basic rights, it’s an attack on the very foundation of equality. We stand firm in our commitment to defending LGBTQ+ rights at every level of government because discrimination anywhere in our community is unacceptable. This order is a stark reminder that the rights we’ve fought for can be stripped away if we don’t stay vigilant. The activists, advocates, and everyday people who built this movement did so with courage, sacrifice, and an unshakable belief that every LGBTQ+ person deserves to live freely and authentically. We will not let this administration erase that progress—not now, not ever.”
Agenda PAC is a political action committee that aims to create and execute aggressive paid communications plans that hold anti-LGBTQ+ politicians and elected officials accountable, as well as defend vulnerable elected officials who are advocates for LGBTQ+ rights.
With a historic number of anti-LGBTQ+ bills being introduced at all levels of government, we exist to take the fight directly to those trying to roll back our basic freedoms.
