Hi John,
On January 28, we’re headed to Albany for Child Care Advocacy Day and we need you to join us. This is your chance to make a real impact on the future of early education and care in New York.
Why now? Too many children still face barriers to child care programs, and child care workers are underpaid despite their vital role in shaping young lives. Governor Hochul’s plan to simply expand access for families misses the root cause of the crisis: without investing in the workforce, we won’t have enough educators to staff the centers our children need. The existing workforce needs to earn a living wage. Without it, we’ll see more programs close, and more families left without care.
Investing in child care is not just the right thing to do - it’s a smart investment. For every dollar invested in child care, New York sees a return of $3 to $7, saving millions on future costs like special education and health care, while helping children graduate, and grow into happy, healthy contributing members of our communities.
RSVP by the end of today, January 21, to secure your spot to what’s sure to be an inspiring day of action. Transportation to the state capitol is provided - just show up ready to make a difference.
Let’s make January 28 a turning point for early education and care in New York!
