Eileen M. Garry Named OJJDP Acting Administrator

Eileen M. Garry was named Acting Administrator of OJJDP on January 20, 2025, coinciding with the inauguration of President Donald J. Trump, who will appoint the next Administrator.

Acting Administrator Garry has 30 years of leadership at the Department of Justice, previously serving as OJJDP’s Acting Administrator from January 2017 until January 2018. She has served as Director of Special Projects in the Office of Justice Programs’ Office of the Assistant Attorney General since May 2018.

“Promoting justice is my life’s work,” Acting Administrator Garry said. “It is my honor to lead OJJDP until a new Administrator is appointed, to continue our work advancing youth justice reform and public safety nationwide.”
