Dear John,
Yesterday, history was made. Donald J. Trump was inaugurated as the 47th President of the United States and just a few weeks ago, the 119th Congress was sworn in as well, ushering in a new era of leadership in Washington. After years of seeing the erosion of our freedoms, the sanctity of life, and the foundation of the family, this moment brings renewed hope.
But we must be clear: the protection of these principles is not guaranteed even with these new leaders.
Even with Trump's string of Executive Orders yesterday, without strong and faithful advocacy, the vision we hoped for will never fully materialize.
It is not guaranteed that we will see the lives of the unborn fully protected, that marriage as an institution will be restored, or that hostility towards faithful Christians will vanish. We've seen that those currently in power have, at times, chosen political expediency over bedrock principles.
That's why FRC is reinforcing our mission and working to ensure the values we share take center stage in this new administration and new Congress' agenda.
President Trump has his agenda, but God has His own agenda, too. Here at FRC, we're focused on shaping Washington's agenda and aligning it with God's agenda.
These next few years are not going to be easy just because we have potential allies in the government. We won this battle, but the war is still raging.
This war isn't primarily political either; it's spiritual. As scripture says "...we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the cosmic powers over this present darkness, against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly places" (Eph. 6:12).
FRC has stood on the frontlines of this spiritual and cultural battle since 1983. With God's grace, we'll continue standing long into the future. We've prayed ceaselessly over the incoming administration and ministered directly to members of Congress, and we'll continue to be a constant prophetic voice and a witness for Christ over the next four years, for the glory of God and the benefit of our nation.
Our efforts are strengthened and made possible thanks to the contributions of faithful Christians, just like you, from all across the country. With your support, we can work to steer the new administration towards the biblical values that we all share.
MAKE AN IMPACT WITH FRC
The power of prayer in times like these cannot be overstated. That's why, in the days leading up to the inauguration, FRC led Christians across the country in what we called "Operation: Prayer Shield," rallying Christians to pray over the transition of power and that no schemes of the Enemy would prevail.
Then on Sunday, we gathered together here in Washington, in partnership with Well Versed, before the inauguration to intercede for America and ask God to guide the new administration forward with spiritual leaders from across the country.
As we turn to the work ahead, one of the most urgent areas of focus remains the sanctity of life. Scripture calls us to advocate for those who cannot speak for themselves, and justice demands protecting society's most vulnerable members: those in the womb. Yet, despite clear biblical teaching on when life begins, some have sought to diminish the significance of abortion or make it a state-level issue alone.
Thankfully, our elected officials are already taking steps to better protect human life.
Ahead of the 52nd Annual March for Life this Friday, Congress is planning to vote on pro-life legislation that would protect and ensure medical care for infants who survive botched abortions.
This is a direct challenge to the Left's ongoing attempts to obscure the grim realities of the abortion industry. Leftists in the media, determined to suppress the truth, have tried to discredit stories of abortion survivors because the darkness hates when its evil deeds are exposed.
When I posted about this heartbreaking issue on Facebook back in September, PolitiFact quickly labeled it "false information," attempting to silence the truth.
FRC has long supported pro-life measures like this at both the state and federal levels, especially as hundreds of infants have survived abortions without being legally entitled to medical care.
From our media efforts which inform, equip, and mobilize Christians across America to stand for righteousness, to our relationships with elected officials -- praying for and encouraging them to govern as God would have them -- FRC will continue standing in the gap for our children, our families, and our nation just as we have done for more than forty years.
As we fervently pray that our new Congress and President Trump sign this and additional legislation to protect the unborn into law in the days ahead, will you partner with us to ensure that this critical work continues and expands?

Yesterday, President Trump said that we are entering America's Golden Age. But whether or not these next four years is truly a golden age is not dependent upon the state of our national treasury, inflation rates, or military strength, but dependent on whether or not we turn back to God and follow in His ways.
John, President Trump's inauguration certainly marks the dawn of a new chapter in our nation's story -- a chapter filled with challenges to confront, opportunities to seize, and the potential for lasting cultural transformation.
We are praying that this administration would honor the sanctity of life, protect the freedoms granted by our Creator, and uphold the God-ordained institution of family. May their policies reflect the truth that every individual is made in the image of God and is endowed with inherent dignity and worth.
With your partnership, we can ensure that this moment is not wasted. Let us stand united in faith and action, knowing that the Lord has placed us here "for such a time as this" (Esther 4:14).
