Dear members and supporters,
We want to be clear — we are here for it.
As Donald Trump begins his second term as President, we will need to harness courage, deep solidarity, vision and steadfastness. People are filling the streets, getting ready for what is to come, and we at GGJ are moving into an offensive position to contest the policies, ideologies, and losses that brought us to this moment.
The inauguration of a far-right administration exacerbates the onslaught of a destructive agenda that harms immigrants, disadvantages workers and communities of color, attacks transgender and LGBTQ+ people, eliminates reproductive rights, destroys climate protections, dismantles the state as we know it, and brazenly escalates this country’s military power domestically and abroad.
This, combined with the looming threat of Project 2025, the hundreds of executive orders the administration promises to pass, and the Republican control of Congress foreshadow an unrelenting, uphill battle over the next four years.

Despite this, we can see hope on the horizon.
The announcement of a [ceasefire in Gaza]([link removed]) last week proves what can be accomplished when our people and movements band together to [demand justice and accountability]([link removed]).
Neither Trump nor Biden deserve any praise or recognition for the ceasefire. Yet, they have taken credit for the work accomplished by the Palestinian people, the global Palestinian solidarity movement, and Palestinian-led organizations in and outside of our membership.
Make no mistake: both are still complicit in the U.S. sabotaging negotiations and continuing to fund, arm, and support Israel’s genocide and continued military occupation.
At this moment, it is our responsibility to advance the mass movement for Palestinian liberation by recommitting to uplifting and incorporating demands for an arms embargo, accountability for genocide, and support for rebuilding Gaza into our larger vision to end global imperialism and U.S. militarism.
We are championing this vision through our Divest from Harm, Invest in Care campaign to fund the healthcare, jobs, and housing our communities actually need instead of endless war. We also recognize that Trump and his corporate allies will weaponize our military against people who disagree with them, people who oppose them, and those that they simply want to hurt.
Given the immense barriers of moving federal interventions of any kind, our first campaign phase will implement local ordinances focused on protecting social safety nets, introducing and expanding sanctuary cities, and investing in climate protection. We’ll also engage in community defense and rapid response work focused on supporting our member organizations and their constituency from bigoted and cruel attacks.
While we do not have all the answers, we are committed to carrying this work to the best of our abilities. We take inspiration from our Palestinian comrades’ [sumud]([link removed]), resistance, and refusal to accept the atrocities inflicted upon them by Zionist occupying forces. We acknowledge that their courage and determination secured this momentary reprieve. And we remain rooted in the care, solidarity, and justice needed to defend our communities and advance transformative solutions.
Thank you for your support of this work. Together, we will take on the challenges to come and advance our vision for a feminist, anti-racist, regenerative economy.

Querides miembros y partidaries,
Queremos ser clares — estamos preparades para esto.
Al asumir Donald Trump su segundo cargo como Presidente, debemos emplear coraje, profunda solidaridad, visión y resolución. La gente está llenando las calles, preparándose para lo que se viene, y nosotres en GGJ estamos asumiendo una posición ofensiva para disputar las políticas, ideologías y pérdidas que nos trajeron a este momento.
La inauguración de una administración de extrema derecha empeora la arremetida de una agenda destructiva que daña a inmigrantes, perjudica a trabajadores y comunidades de color, ataca a la gente transgénero y LGBTQ+, elimina los derechos reproductivos, destruye protecciones climáticas, desarma el estado tal y como lo conocemos e intensifica sin pudor el poder militar de este país aquí y en el exterior.
Esto, combinado con la amenaza acechante del Proyecto 2025, los cientos de órdenes ejecutivas que la administración promete aprobar y el control republicano del Congreso pronostican una batalla difícil e implacable durante los próximos cuatro años.

A pesar de esto, podemos ver esperanza en el horizonte.
El anuncio de un [alto al fuego en Gaza]([link removed]) la semana pasada prueba lo que puede ser logrado cuando nuestra gente y nuestros movimientos se unen para [exigir justicia y responsabilidad]([link removed]).
Ni Trump ni Biden merecen ningún elogio ni reconocimiento por el alto al fuego. Sin embargo, se han atribuído el mérito por el trabajo logrado por el pueblo palestino, el movimiento global de solidaridad con Palestina y las organizaciones lideradas por palestinos dentro y fuera de nuestra membresía.
Que no quepa duda: ambos siguen siendo cómplices en el sabotaje estadounidense de las negociaciones y siguen financiando, armando y apoyando el genocidio de Israel y su continua ocupación militar.
En este momento, es nuestra responsabilidad avanzar el movimiento masivo por la liberación palestina recomprometiéndonos a elevar e incorporar las demandas de un embargo de armas, responsabilización por el genocidio y apoyo para reconstruir Gaza dentro de nuestra visión más amplia de poner un fin al imperialismo global y el militarismo estadounidense.
Estamos luchando por esta visión a través de nuestra campaña Desinvertir del daño, invertir en cuidado para financiar el cuidado de la salud, trabajos y viviendas que nuestras comunidades realmente necesitan en vez de una guerra sin fin. También reconocemos que Trump y sus aliados corporativos utilizarán las fuerzas armadas contra la gente que no esté de acuerdo con ellos, gente que se les oponga y la gente que simplemente quieren dañar.
Dadas las barreras inmensas a movilizar intervenciones federales de cualquier tipo, la primera fase de nuestra campaña será implementar ordenanzas locales enfocadas en proteger las redes de seguridad social, introducir y expandir las ciudades santuario e invertir en la protección climática. También participaremos en defensa comunitaria y trabajo de respuesta rápida enfocado en apoyar a nuestras organizaciones miembro y sus constituyentes de ataques prejuiciosos y crueles.
Si bien no tenemos todas las respuestas, estamos comprometides a llevar a cabo este trabajo lo mejor posible. Tomamos inspiración del [sumud]([link removed]) de nuestres camaradas palestinas, su resistencia y denegación de aceptar las atrocidades infligidas en elles por las fuerzas ocupadoras sionistas. Reconocemos que su valentía y resolución aseguraron este alivio temporal. Y permanecemos arraigades en el cuidado, la solidaridad y la justicia necesarias para defender nuestras comunidades y avanzar sus soluciones transformativas.
Gracias por su apoyo en este trabajo. Juntes, enfrentaremos los desafíos que se vienen y avanzaremos nuestra visión de una economía feministra, antirracista y regenerativa.
