Hi John,
We just launched our first lawsuit against the new Trump administration, over its plans to sell out the wild.
Since Election Day President Trump, Elon Musk and others have made clear their disdain for the bedrock laws and people that protect the natural world.
They've also made it clear they think Arctic species like polar bears and ice seals and endangered fish like delta smelt are expendable.
But the Center is keeping a close eye. We won't let them toy with endangered species' lives.
You can help today with a gift to the Future for the Wild Fund.
During the post-election transition Trump enlisted Musk and co. to lead the so-called Department of Government Efficiency. This new entity is already proclaiming its plans to gut protections for imperiled creatures. That's why we went to court the moment Trump was sworn in.
So much is at stake, from the laws we use to defend imperiled wildlife — especially the Endangered Species Act — to the agencies charged with protecting plants, animals, public lands, and our air and water.
The Project 2025 blueprint calls for drilling in the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge, stripping away federal protection from gray wolves and grizzlies, gutting habitat protections for a wide range of animals and plants, and many other dangerous plans.
We know that if Trump, Musk and the DOGE team get their way, more species will be pushed to the brink and the climate crisis emergency will worsen.
Their aim is to destroy the safeguards that save the wild. Our aim is to protect every last species, great and small, and secure their future.
Our resolve to save the natural world has never been stronger. That's why we swooped in with a day one lawsuit.
This is just the first step. Please make a gift today to the Future for the Wild Fund.
