By way of introduction, I’m the CEO of the Center for Investigative Reporting, which as you know produces Reveal (and, since February 2024, also produces Mother Jones ([link removed]) ). I’m grateful for all the support you’ve given to Reveal over the years and wanted to invite you to join a virtual event I’ll be moderating on Wednesday, January 22, at 7 p.m. ET/4 p.m. PT. When Donald Trump was inaugurated to a second term in office on January 20, billionaire media owners were there cheering him on from the VIP section. Mother Jones reporters were covering the event, but with a much different agenda. As they do every day, David Corn and the rest of our DC bureau team was on the ground reporting on the plans the new administration is putting into place and identifying who is organizing to push back.

I’d like to invite you to join a post-inauguration discussion with David Corn and other journalists on our team to hear firsthand what they’ve seen and heard as the new administration takes over and what we can expect next—from confirmation fights, deportation plans, and spending cuts to fissures in the MAGA movement and emerging visions from the Democratic opposition.
