Hi there,

*Welcome 2025*

The Board and Staff at NAAC wish you and your loved ones a very joyous, healthy and Happy New Year. As we bid farewell to the old, we embrace the new with hope and look forward to new and exciting times ahead. We hope to see much more of you all in in 2025!

Having started from January 15, NAAC Music & Dance Academy is kicking off its new term of music and dance classes every Wednesday from 5:30pm-8:00pm. Come join us at Radford Academy to learn a new dance move, an instrument, singing, make new friends and have some fun...or come along for fitness, Yoga & Wellbeing at Wollaton Park and Newstead Abbey...

Our Music & Dance Academy students are given the opportunity to participate at loads of local events organised by NAAC and other organisations...so come along and be that budding star!

********Planning has also started for our Holi Event in March and the Vaisakhi Event in May...please let us know if you'd like to perform or help in planning these events.********

Forthcoming Events...

Cama Sood Hara - A Film By Haresh Sood

Thursday 23 January - Sunday 26 January @ The Arc Cinema

*NAAC Supports Local Indian Filmmaker in International Film Tour Launch Opening on 23-26 January, Hucknall Arc Cinema – Tickets on sale now [ [link removed] ]...*

Haresh Sood, a Nottingham and Sevilla-based filmmaker and barrister, follows up his globally acclaimed debut My Niece’s Big Fat Delhi Wedding with his second feature documentary. This time, Haresh turns the lens on himself, exploring the challenges and societal pressures of being a 47-year-old unmarried British Indian male. The film intelligently delves into the taunts, discrimination, and cultural expectations he’s faced, while offering a humorous yet poignant critique of the Indian matrimonial system.

Shot across five countries with a team of 250 cast and crew members, this documentary combines Haresh’s personal and emotional journey with sharp storytelling and a touch of comedy. From love and loss to his unique “i theory” on relationships, Haresh offers a thought-provoking perspective on why some people remain single. Featuring contributions from international artists and musicians, this is a captivating film that will challenge perceptions and spark conversation. (Source: The Arc Cinema)

*Cama Sood Hara, *a much more personal and introspective piece that focuses on love, life and loss. This film is a tribute to his late mother and is about rediscovering life after loss. His previous project, My Niece’s Big Fat Delhi Wedding attracted major international attention and interest and was shown at 50 festivals around the world and nominated for some 30 awards.

The film, Cama Sood Hara, had its premiere in Beeston and is now going to be shown at the *Arc Cinema in Hucknall [ [link removed] ]* for four nights from January 23 to 26 with Q&A sessions with the director on the Thursday and Sunday.
