The clock is ticking.

Dear John,

Donald Trump is once again president of the United States.

With a climate-denier in the White House – who has already ditched the Paris Climate Agreement – the rest of the world must go even further to curb climate change.

So, with the UK government having until 2 May to publish its new climate plan – as ordered by the High Court – please sign our petition to demand it slashes emissions fast [1].

I'LL SIGN THE PETITION

The UK is still burdened with an unlawful climate plan that Labour inherited from the last government.

For a country ravaged by flooding in 2024, on a planet already burning in 2025, we must do better. Especially given our historic contribution to the climate crisis.

Together we already defeated the last government in court – by showing its climate plan was unlawful. Which is why Labour has to publish a new one now. But a win in court isn’t enough. Now we need to persuade the government to produce an ambitious, fair plan that slashes emissions at the rate that’s desperately needed.

Time is running out for climate action so please sign our petition today.

I'LL SIGN THE PETITION

Please don’t let this week’s inauguration of President Donald Trump and his ditching of the Paris Climate Agreement put you off taking action.

Yes, having a climate-denier in the White House is an obstacle to climate action – especially given the scale of US’s emissions. But every other country can – and must – play its part. And we think that together we can persuade the UK government to step up and show real leadership.

With hope,

Danny

NOTES:

[1] There is a chance the government may seek an extension to the 2 May deadline. While we can’t afford to delay climate action, we could support a short extension if it means they get the plan right.
