My opponent has been lying about his China record for 30 years. 

It’s time for Michigan voters to get the facts. He’s failed to stand up to the Chinese Communist Party and has been unable to defend American interests at every turn during his decades-long political career.

Without fail, every campaign season throughout his 30-year career, John’s opponent has promised voters that he’ll be tough on China. That he will push back on the Communist regime in Beijing. That he will stand up and call out their horrendous violations of basic human rights. That he’ll bring our jobs back. 

These are nothing but flat-out lies. 

He might talk a tough game on China, but his record in Washington tells a different story. 

A closer look at his record shows that our opponent has: 

• Let our jobs and crucial defense and medical supply chains leave for China. 
  
• Looked the other way while Beijing has subverted international law and stolen from American companies. 
  
• Done nothing to push back on their oppression of freedom in Hong Kong, Taiwan, and Tibet. 

Our opponent is a part of a committee whose sole purpose is to hold China accountable, but he’s only shown up to 2 of their hearings in 5 years. 

Leaders like him are exactly why Washington has failed to contain the Chinese Communist Party for decades. We can’t afford another six years of his disastrous leadership on China. 

It’s time for Washington to confront the Communists in Beijing, and to do that, we need leaders like John who have the experience and knowhow to protect our national security and economic interests.
