President Trump: "The golden age of America begins right now"

Daily Wire: President Donald Trump’s inauguration speech on Monday emphasized renewed American strength and prosperity, promising that the country’s “golden age” begins now. Trump was sworn into office as the 47th president of the United States just after noon on Monday, beginning his second term as president after an overwhelming electoral victory and stunning political comeback that included dozens of felony convictions, a federal raid on his home, and a would-be assassin’s bullet striking his ear (Daily Wire). George: President Trump: “The golden age of America begins RIGHT NOW” (X). Hugh Hewitt: That was a superb Inaugural Address. It was necessarily divisive in parts because President Trump’s triumphant return is a repudiation of much of the past four years but it had to be said and said today. “The golden age of America” is a big promise. Pray he pulls it off (X).

Donald Trump Signs Several Executive Orders in Front of Crowd of Arena, Tosses Pens Into Crowd
Just the News: President Donald Trump on Monday signed a number of executive orders while on stage at the Capital One arena in Washington, D.C. Trump signed the orders from a desk on stage and showed the individual documents to a cheering crowd (Just the News). Kyle Becker: Donald J. Trump’s first presidential act is to *RESCIND* 78 Biden executive orders, actions, and memoranda. Trump wipes the slate clean of the disastrous Biden presidency (X). Breaking 911: President Trump throws pens out to the crowd after signing historic executive orders at the Capital One Arena Inauguration event (X).

Bill Melugin: It’s official. The Trump administration has canceled the CBP One cell phone app parole program used by Biden to allow more than 900,000 migrants to enter the US. Existing appointments have been cancelled (X).

Biden Issues Sweeping Pardons In Last Act of Presidency
Townhall: Just hours before Donald Trump will be sworn in as the 47th president of the United States, President Joe Biden issued pre-emptive pardons for a number of high-profile figures, shielding them from potential retribution by the incoming administration. The pre-emptive pardons were announced Monday morning for Dr. Anthony Fauci, former director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, Gen. Mark Milley, former chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, lawmakers and staff that served on the Jan. 6 Committee, including former Rep. Liz Cheney (R-WY), and U.S. Capitol and D.C. Metropolitan police officers who testified before the Select Committee (Townhall). National Review: Biden used his presidential power to pardon five members of his immediate family: James, his wife Sara, Valerie, her husband John Owens, and Francis. The outgoing president said the pardons “should not be mistaken as an acknowledgment that they engaged in any wrongdoing, nor should acceptance be misconstrued as an admission of guilt for any offense.” James and Sara, in particular, were pardoned, presumably because James wrote Joe a $200,000 check on March 1, 2018 — the same day he received the funds from distressed rural hospital provider Americore (National Review). End Wokeness: 10 days ago, Biden said he will only pardon individuals who committed crimes. Today he pardoned Fauci, Milley, Cheney, EVERYONE on the J6th Committee (X). Reporter Drew Holden: NYT on Biden pardons v NYT on Trump (X).

Reactions to Joe Biden’s Last-Minute Pardons
HotAir: Hillary Clinton’s pollster Mark Penn declared them “the last straw,” and also evidence of Biden Inc corruption (HotAir). Mark Penn: The last straw. Last minute pardons for Biden’s political accomplices were the plan all along. The pardons for drug dealers and commutations for murderers were just cover for the main act of these pardons and his son — all done after elections have passed. The only administration to try to jail political opponents was not Trump’s but Biden’s, and it was the voters who rejected it with their votes… But Biden was elected lying to the public about his son’s business (which was eventually uncovered), sought to win reelection hiding his infirmities, (which was also eventually uncovered), and genuinely abused his office in the closing days of his presidency as his low ratings sink even lower (X). Reporter Glenn Greenwald: Everything Democrats and corporate media falsely claimed Trump would do with the pardon power to destroy democracy and the rule of law– pardon all his family members and all his political allies — were things Trump didn’t do. They were, however, all things that Biden did (X). Kimberly Strassel: Unbelievable. Democrats all look like fools, for defending him over the years. Even Joe “standards and norms” Biden knows this stinks, thus the timing (X).

Donald Trump Designates Criminal Cartels as Foreign Terrorist Organizations
Reuters: U.S. President Donald Trump on Monday signed executive orders declaring illegal immigration at the U.S.-Mexico border a national emergency, designating criminal cartels as terrorist organizations, and targeting automatic citizenship for U.S.-born children of immigrants in the country illegally. Trump also signed an order expected to suspend the U.S. refugee resettlement program for four months, although the text of the orders was not immediately available (Reuters). Libs of TikTok: President Trump signs an Executive Order designating the cartels as foreign terrorist organizations (X).

Trump Pardons 1,500 January 6 Protesters
Just the News: President Trump said on Monday night he has signed pardons for about 1,500 individuals he described as Jan. 6th “hostages” (Just the News). David Harris Jr.: President Trump just pardoned approximately 1,500 Jan 6 defendants (X).

Marco Rubio Unanimously Confirmed as Secretary of State
Axios: The Senate voted 99-0 on Monday to confirm Sen. Marco Rubio (R-Fla.) as President Trump’s secretary of state. Rubio will be instrumental in making good on many of Trump’s grandest campaign promises — from ending the war in Ukraine to countering China’s growing influence to implementing a ceasefire deal in Gaza (Axios). Rick Scott: Excited to confirm my friend, Marco Rubio, as our next Secretary of State! He was a great senator who fought daily to improve Florida families’ lives. I’m going to miss him in the Senate, but I know he will do a fantastic job leading the Department of State (X).

CNN’s Jake Tapper: "We're about to enter an era of deepfakes and all sorts of misinformation”
Townhall: Is Jake Tapper trying to get his network sued again? If anything, it displayed a remarkable lack of self-awareness. The CNN host was not pleased with the likes of tech billionaires showing up for Donald J. Trump’s inauguration… Jake, your network just lost a massive lawsuit where you smeared a Navy veteran and peddled fake news (Townhall). Steve Guest: CNN’s Jake Tapper melts down at the fact X’s Elon Musk, Meta’s Mark Zuckerberg, Amazon’s Jeff Bezos, Apple’s Tim Cook, and Google’s Sundar Pichai attended the inauguration church service with Donald Trump and JD Vance: “We’re about to enter an era of deepfakes and all sorts of misinformation and the degree to which those 5 gentleman play a role or do not play a role will be pivotal in terms of where the American people are four years from now” (X). Stephen Miller: Jake Tapper and his network were just found liable for defamation, and he just carries on with zero self-awareness like you’re not supposed to know or care about it (X).

10.
Leftists Organizations Sue Trump Administration’s DOGE Group After Inauguration
Townhall: Several leftist nonprofit organizations have filed a lawsuit against the Trump administration just hours after President Donald Trump was sworn in on Monday. The complaint centers on the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), a non-government advisory group headed by X owner Elon Musk to slash government spending… The plaintiffs argue that DOGE’s existence violates the Federal Advisory Committee Act (FACA) because it is allegedly operating without transparency and a balanced membership. The complaint further suggests that the group is unduly influenced by special interests. DOGE was created to advise the federal government on how it could cut unnecessary and costly federal programs. The group “is slated to dictate federal policy in ways that will affect millions of Americans, including those communities that Plaintiffs represent,” the complaint stated (Townhall). Robby Starbuck: Democrats love government waste so much that they plan to sue Elon’s DOGE project only minutes after Trump takes office. They’re literally suing to stop us from having an efficient government that doesn’t waste our money. This is who the Democrats are (X).
