Friend,

Like many of you, I have spent the day watching notification after notification pop up on my phone — Trump withdraws from the Paris Climate Accords; Trump prepares pardons for those convicted of attacking the Capitol on January 6th; Trump plans for an executive order to attempt to revoke birthright citizenship. The list goes on.

For many of us, that comes with anger, fear, and just plain exhaustion.

So amid all of this, I wanted to pop into your inbox with a simple message: We will get through this.

We will get through it the same way that generations before us have survived crises — with ordinary Americans who love their country stepping up to do just a little bit more, whether that is distributing yard signs, knocking on doors, running for office, or yes, chipping in a few dollars to a leader you believe in.

Whatever you do, don’t tune out. I know it can be tempting to turn away from politics, but please, stay engaged.
