HORRIFIC - woman takes abortion pills at SIX MONTHS under remote abortion regime - Write to your MP now

Dear SPUC supporter,

I am writing to you to tell you about a horrific story which broke over the weekend. A story which has confirmed our worst fears about the Government’s rushed-through, unscrutinised home abortions regime.

The Sun newspaper reported that police are investigating the death of an unborn baby after a woman, who was 28 weeks pregnant, took abortion pills she was sent through the BPAS “pills by post” scheme.

https://www.thesun.co.uk/news/11690506/police-probe-death-of-unborn-baby-after-woman-has-illegal-abortion-by-post-at-28-weeks-four-weeks-past-limit/

28 weeks! That's over 6 months pregnant. It is is four weeks past the legal limit, and 18 weeks later than the recommended gestation of 10 weeks for a “medical” abortion.

BPAS have confirmed that they are investigating EIGHT more cases of pills being taken past the 10- week limit. This is surely only the tip of the iceberg.

Horrific trauma

It was obvious from the start that it would be impossible for abortion staff to accurately date a pregnancy via a telephone consultation. Now at least one woman has suffered the horrific trauma of delivering a fully developed baby in her home; dead.

BPAS are still insisting that sending women abortion pills in the post is a “phenomenal achievement in women’s healthcare, enabling women to safely access the care they need at home.”

BPAS must be stopped. These reckless abortion providers must not be allowed to endanger women’s health and well-being and illegally kill unborn children in this way.

Please forward this story to your MP now. Ask him or her to contact the Health Secretary, Matt Hancock, urgently, to demand that this dangerous policy be stopped immediately.

If you live in Scotland or Wales, please also contact your MSP/AM to demand that the devolved governments do the same.

Please act now.

With all good wishes,

Antonia Tully
Director of Campaigns
