John, it’s official. My uncle Donald was sworn in as the 47th president.
The next few weeks, months, and even years will pose new challenges as our rights and freedoms are put on the chopping block by the GOP’s governing trifecta.
But all hope is not lost, John, and how we respond in these first few days will set the tone and inform our resistance efforts moving forward.
Even though Democrats are in the minority, we’ve got a plan to withstand the next four years, but before I go into detail: Will you please pitch in $25 to show that you’re ready to fight back against Donald’s new administration?

Here are 3 big things we can do to resist Donald and his GOP enablers:
1) We need to win off-year elections. There are a lot of really important state legislature races in Virginia, New Jersey, Mississippi, and Louisiana, as well as critical gubernatorial races in both Virginia and New Jersey.
2) We must lay the foundation to retake the House and Senate in 2026. Flipping the House won’t be easy, and the Senate map will be challenging, but we need to start the work now to have any chance at retaking both.
3) We have to push back wherever and whenever we can. That means taking to the streets, talking to friends and family, donating, volunteering, anything you can think of. We must make the GOP’s job as difficult as possible to protect our rights and freedoms.
I’ll have more to say on the matter in the coming weeks, but in the meantime, we need to execute this plan and hunker down for a bumpy ride.
Can I count on your support along the way, John? If so, please pitch in $25 to support my org Democracy Defense Fund in our efforts to fight back and elect more Democrats!
