Tina for Oregon

John,

Earlier today, Donald Trump was sworn in as President of the United States. I will work with anyone who wants to join our efforts to make real progress for Oregonians.

But let me be clear – I will also work to hold him and his administration accountable if they undermine our values or pursue policies that will hurt people in Oregon.

I spoke with a lot of folks after the November election. People were scared, sad, or both. I get it. This feels topsy-turvy again. But, regardless of how I feel, my job is to stay calm and level-headed in these uncertain times.

Now that the dust has settled and Donald Trump is president, it’s time to recommit ourselves to working together to build a better future for every person in our state. In every corner of our state, good people are fighting for lower costs, better schools, and more resources to address our state’s most pressing issues.

I stand ready to come together with others, build on this resolve, and stay committed to collaboration for the common good — and I hope you are too, John.

Oregonians have shown they will continue to lead with compassion, courage, and conviction — protecting a place where everyone can live freely and authentically.

We all need to fight for these values — no matter the challenges ahead, or what the Trump Administration does to attempt to infringe upon these values.

I’m thankful for Oregon and what we’ve built in our state. And I’m thankful to be your Governor in these challenging times.

We are strong, resilient, and unified by our shared belief in a brighter tomorrow. And, as your Governor, I will always have your back and work hard to uplift and protect our wonderful state.

Best wishes,

Tina
