Today, as we honor the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., we’re reminded of his relentless fight for justice and equality. Dr. King’s vision calls us to action — not just to dream of a better world, but to fight for it.

It’s also Inauguration Day, and I’ll be honest: The next four years will be a battle.

Donald Trump has made it clear that on day one of his presidency he plans to devastate our communities. Project 2025 is just the blueprint for tearing down protections for immigrants, workers, the LGBTQ+ community, and women — all while stacking the deck in favor of the wealthy and powerful.

New York City needs a leader who will stand up to Trump and his harmful MAGA agenda — not someone who will fly to Mar-a-Lago and beg for a pardon.

I’m ready to fight like a mother for our city — because that’s what New Yorkers deserve.
